IDIOTIC MORON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It was 9.20pm last night, was trying to clear the pile of procedure forms on the tray when this father came in thru the red door and approached me.. said his child was vomiting NON-STOP and running a temperature.. as usual it was 40+ on the que and its still like more than 10 to his turn.. so i said to bring his child in to re-assess.. the child came in, was obviously not vomiting non-stop.. she seriously looks more alert than anyone else.. anyway the temperature was 40 degrees and last paracetamol was at 5pm.. since its time for the next dose of paracet, i den said to the father to wait at the nurses' station while i went out to triage to order the paracet[was triaged by Jumat].. i reached triage and then realised Jumat's screen was logged off already, so Danilo said to order manually first and we see wat we can do later.. so i went in and gave the medicine.. before i gave tt moron's daughter, i remembered VERY CLEARLY that i double checked, no allergies, last paracet was at 5pm.. tt moron said YES.. so i gave the medicine to the child.. jus when she finished drinking the paracet, tt moron suddenly said, its ok to give the medicine now izzit? i was like, ya.. paracetamol can take every 4 hourly, the last time u gave was 5pm so now its time for the next dose already.. then tt moron said, but i jus gave her this u know [taking out tt bottle of paracet tt he brought and showing me].. i said, WHAT?? WHEN DID U GIVE?? he replied in the most fucking manner, "just lor, when u went outside.."

For a moment i thought my heart stopped beating okays.. and i seriously will slap his damn bloody face if i wasn't wearing my uniform!!! I'VE NEVER SEEN SUCH A STUPID FUCKING IDIOTIC MORON!!!!!! can anyone be more stupid than him u tell me!!!!!! ARGH!!!!!!!!! I was so angry i thought my tears was gona fall..[i cry when i get really really furious]

I jus could not say anything further and asked the father to sit at the waiting area and left without even looking at his face.. So quickly went to tell Kah Hui [she was supervisor] what happened and she said to inform Daryl.. when i was waiting outside daryl's room danilo came in to tell me he managed to open Jumat's screen.. then he asked whether i gave the paracet already and din noe wat jus happened.. so as i told him my eyes got more n more watery and i had to stop halfway to relax then continue..

Then Daryl said its ok cos it can't be so much tt it reach the toxic dose.. so very nicely he asked Enrica to pick up the case and asked me not to worry too much.. after Enrica saw the case she came and tell me the father was OK when she saw[she tot he'll be angry].. i tot, probably was guilty conscious..

Before Daryl left he came and talk to me and the first thing that he said was, 'Don't worry, the father is an idiot..' haha.. okays.. tt made me felt better.. then he said to put up the incident report and he'll sign it together with Enrica.. He was very nice throughout and his words were really supportive.. i think cos he knew tt i was gona cry when i talked to him earlier.. haha.. then he complained to me abt his VVIP tt came earlier before i came on shift.. jus to distract me abit i think.. haha.. i think he likes to complain cos few days ago he did the same thing too.. complaining how stupid the parents were to argue abt wat time did they change the diaper for the child and how many times they did it.. haha..

I was telling Lekha at the medicine trolley tt I was really angry and i wanted to kill the father.. then when i turn around, the father was jus behind me, sitting at the FBC counter.. haha.. dun think he understands and i dun care even if he does.. for nothing i kena an incident report.. WTF!! I'M STILL VERY ANGRY!!!!!

We SURVIVED!!!

Today we had the WORST staffing ever in history.. Its a Sunday afternoon and we only had ONE senior staff nurse, which is Danilo, and the next most senior is me and my batch girls.. No NM or NCs around.. At first aunty Ho was the supervisor.. but JUST NICE she took MC today.. She had PHARYNGITIS.. Yes. she works with her pharynx, I only got to know today.. So only person who can be Supervisor obviously was Danilo.. Lucky we had Haniza who's on K shift so she became T1 after 2pm and me the T2.. T2 LOR!!!! like.. I JUST PASS MY CORE PROGRAMME!!! Grrr.. how can I be T2 when the number of T3s I became is like less than 10??!! I almost took MC too.. but I knew today staffing wasn't good and if i MC den it'll be worse.. woke up and puked 3 times during the night and even till now i still feel funny in my tummy.. like those colicky pain.. gets better if i burp but comes back again like 5 mins later.. din expect the VERY RESPONSIBLE SSN to take MC.. probably too scared to come to work cos like she'll work with a bunch of juniors.. WTF..

Anyways.. Hope i din comment too much on ppl's work attitude.. Haa.. So after report i dragged myself unwillingly to the triage counter.. slowly wipe my stethoscope.. den sit down and log in to my account.. then.. one black parent came in and said his son's wound keeps bleeding and he's crying alot.. asked if he could be seen earlier.. then came the wife carrying his son, and when i saw the child.. i wondered where the bleeding that he mentioned earlier came abt.. and it was jus a SUPERFICIAL LACERATION can.. those gule-able type lor!! siao ah.. this kinda thing u wan me to cat 2 or '9' izzit? might as well say resus la!! and its jus like 5 to his turn when i have 20+ on the que.. can't u jus wait for a while longer? and the MOs are actually seeing very fast le lor.. so i jus said there's 5 more to ur turn, pls take a sit at the waiting area, doctor will call soon.. after seeing like 2 patients, the black father came again.. saying the same thing.. and this time i got pissed and raised my voice a little and said.. 'sir, ur son's wound is not bleeding anymore and there's only 2 more patients in front of u. can u wait at the waiting area so u can see ur number being called? i'm sorry i still have patients to see, can u move aside?' haha! felt so good to say back the parents.. they think by acting kelian we will be soft hearted enuff to up-triage them.. siao..

another one was a CHINESE family.. apparently their daughter came yesterday for diarrhoea and vomiting and i remembered serving them.. so came in today with the same problem plus fever and 'cough non-stop'.. parameters were as stable as can be.. lungs were clear.. and the COUGH!! tell me abt it man.. its those fake and weak cough like wat u do when trying to imitate someone with a cough.. obviously i cat 3 tt fella.. when i told the father to register and wait for the number to be called, the father jus asked.. 'aren't we supposed to go thru the red door?? yesterday we came and the nurse jus told us to go thru the red door u know?' then i said, 'the red door is for those more urgent cases and right now ur girl's parameters are all stable, there's NO NEED for her to go thru the red door.' he argued, 'but we were here yesterday already, can't u jus let us go in n see the doctor now? its becos her condition is not getting better tts y we brought her here again!' again pissing me off, i said to him, 'Daddy, if everyone that comes here tells us this and we give priority jus becos they're here yesterday then those cases that are real emergency no need to be seen already lor!' wah kaoz!! never seen such irritating ppl before.. after chasing them away frm my triage counter, they attack the next possible place.. the RED DOOR!! so that same moron went in and started harrasing Danilo.. so Dan called me and asked me to order FBC for tt child.. then i remembered, the father mentioned FBC was done yesterday but i forgot to write it in the notes.. In the end Kee Chong saw the case and seriously, if they still complain then i dunno wat to say sia..

One more irritating mother and this one really pissed my ass too the core lor!! child came in with laceration big toe.. apparently the clever son's foot got caught in the bicycle.. so brought him in together with one kampong of aunties and uncles and blah blah.. it started when i came out frm resus and calling to see patients.. so i called 297.. no respond.. 298.. no respond.. so i shouted 'que number 298!' still no respond.. jus then, the kampong tt sat in front of my counter started talking, 'wats our number?' '299' someone replied loudly and looking at me at the same time.. so then i pressed the QMS and called for their number.. the mother came in, then another fat woman who was cradling the child (mind u, he's 7 turning 8 already lor) asked, 'must i bring him in?' the mother replied sacarstically, 'no need lah, this is jus the registration. she can't do anything anyway.' I tell u, if I weren't wearing a mask, all u can see is BLACK lor.. this is a TRIAGE STATION, not a registration counter can??!!! I'm a NURSE! i need to assess ur child so I can prioritize!! I'M NOT A REGISTRATION CLERK!! so the mother sat down and jus took my pen which i put on the keyboard without asking and wrote her child's name on the que ticket.. 'he's been here many many times, u shld have his records.' she said tt while she shoved the ticket to me.. angry, but still i asked nicely 'where's ur child?' then she said it in a 'duh' tone, "oh, he's outside" i couldn't be bothered anymore and jus said sternly, 'can u bring him in? i need to assess him.' then came the fat woman(she can't even fit into my chair at the counter), still cradling the child.. she sat there and expect me to know wats wrong with the child.. so after asking and blah blah, i said i need to look at the wound.. then the mother said, 'are u sure u want to open up the bandage?' like wat da hell lor! if i never open den how am i supposed to know wats the severity and stuff?? okays, it probably cut the artery cos after opening the bandage the blood was still spurting.. but u dun have to like judge my skills and knowledge lor!!

Then came a man, i dunno frm where, and asked whether its still bleeding.. then he ordered me to bandage it back cos he's a surgeon and HE KNOWS.. if he's a surgeon then i seriously doubt his qualification.. probably it wasn't him who did the dressing, but apparently the gauze was soaking wet with i dunno wat (i hope its saline) and the wound was almost ROTTEN!! is NUA lor!! kaozz.. who da hell ever dresses a wound like tt? is tt a part of ur intestines?? anyways i jus kept quiet throughout when i dressed the wound.. then i said this will need stitching.. then before i could open my mouth to ask them not to give any food or drinks to the child, the mother started asking ard wat time was the last food intake n stuff.. kaoz.. i know u know alot lah.. so wat if ur (whoever tt old man is to u) is a surgeon? those doctors who look down on nurses simply disgusts me okays!! they're jus sooooo getting on my nerves i jus said 'no food or drinks, register, doctor will call the same number.' and closed the case.. FUCK THE HELL OUT OF THEM!!! ARGH!!!

Other than those irritating parents, the whole shift was okok lah.. had 4 resus, including 1 VHF standby for fitting child.. then the last resus was a pneumonia, ?sepsis.. came in with stiffness of the whole body and i tot there was neck stiffness.. so juliana suggested to bring to resus [i tot of sending in as a '9'].. lucky we brought into resus.. haha.. the child was supposed to go HD but cos HD full house so went to general ward with early review.. haha.. tt resus was run by all juniors lor!! me, juliana and lailee.. with Dr CK Wong and Dr Jeremy.. haha.. tts abt it lah.. can't wait to go on leave and FLY OVER TO JOY!!! haha.. shall update again.. ciaoz..

Devastated

Not me.. But the parents of the poor boy yesterday.. Caught a glimpse of them hugging their boy and wailing when the door of the multi purpose room opened.. Was too much a heartache for me to take.. I was in-charge yesterday so had to do the paper work and last office for him.. My hands were trembling when I went thru the papers.. Not the first time I face a BID case.. Didn't understand why I felt that way then..

Was abt 1140hrs when we received the VHF to call for standby for a RTA, collapsed case.. So Dr Tham decided to call for trauma code first while we prepared for the case.. Intubation, drugs, fluids, spinal board, blah blah.. and when the code team arrived the whole resus room was in a total mess.. even before the boy arrived.. Sister Indra wanted me to do the documentation cos she thinks it'll be too confusing for Michelle to handle.. So when the boy arrived I helped to transfer and cos of the position that I was standing, I had no choice but to start doing CPR for him.. In tt 1 second Dr Tham gave me that look like 'y aren't ur hands moving? do the CPR!'.. so I jus started anyways.. First time doing it on a child.. At tt moment.. it din bother me whether my hands were tired or whether I was standing in a weird position or not(bed was too high and I was tip-toeing while doing).. I jus did it with all the energy i had.. for a second i felt like crying.. I simply do not understand what was happening to me..

After like 5 mins one of the surgeons decided to take over me so i went to take over Michelle for the documentation.. was horrified and felt like screaming at her after i saw the clip board!! NOTHING WRITTEN!!! WTH! resus started like 5 mins ago and nothing there!! already intubated and started with adrenaline and fluids and the charts were EMPTY!! had no choice but to write the total amt of fluids tt went in at a single timing.. lucky Jumat was counting how many boluses we gave.. Okays.. Sister Indra did mention that she wanted me to do documentation.. but given the situation and she doing nothing in the resus room I dun understand y din she have the initiative to do the charting.. and good gracious she was HOLDING ON TO THE BOARD!!

So after giving like countless of fluid boluses(it was one page of N/saline bolus already), plus E-blood and 6 adrenaline the Drs thought we already did our best already and decided to call.. Time of death 1223hrs..

We could all hear the mother's helpless cry outside the resus room.. He was still there when she left for work in the morning.. Now, he's gone.. Taken home to be with the Lord.. To be an angel, happily playing by His side, where its all so peaceful..

Crazy shift!! Was on night yesterday and the crowd was horrifying! Highest record was 56 on the queue! Wat were all those parents thinking when they decided to bring their child to CE?? If its for vomiting or diarrhoea then its not so bad cos u still can say u're worried of dehydration.. but most of them brought their child for FEVER!!! and its not like prolong fever or watsoeva.. like there's more than 10 on the que for fever ONE DAY!! DON'T THEY HAVE PARACETAMOL AT HOME???!!! tts not the most irritating part.. worst of all are those parents who REFUSE to give fever meds to their child and let the temperature shoot up past 39.5 degrees and because of the PROTOCOL we have to 9 them in!! and the rest of the queue will be jus jammed up cos there's simply too many 9 cases! R-I-D-I-C-U-L-O-U-S!!!!!!

Another high attendance is currently HFMD.. all thanks to the newspaper report that said HFMD might cause brain damage and death... din actually see the report but Ms Dan told me.. so at triage u see cases like one small dot on the hand and the parents think its HFMD so brought the child to CE.. I seriously pity the GPs out there.. their income must have gone downhill nowadays cos out of PARENTAL STUPIDITY they jus bring straight to us..

Ever since I started working in CE I've never seen the que pass 50 okays.. I mean, I've heard them complain but it din really happen when i was on shift u see.. and yesterday, for the first time, its 56!! well, we were intubating a drowsy child at tt time lah.. but before that was like 53 already so not tt much a difference.. talking abt tt.. yesterday was my first ever experience to stand at the head during intubation.. so i asissted in the suction, cricoid and stuff.. haha! it felt so... funny! while i was applying cricoid and the tube going in... i can feel it lor!! ugh~! but was a good one yesterday.. Pauline was like so steady when she tube the child.. haha.. probably done it too many times already given her jinx-ness.. haha! the poor child was newly diagnosed with brain tumor after the CT scan.. at first we tot was meningitis.. sighz..

So the last number today when i handed over was 555, when the number we took over was 370+.. at 1am we already hit 500 can.. WTH.. shld see the waiting area sia.. hope tonight will be better if not i think i'm gona fall sick again if this continues.. lets pray hard! :)

Surprise surprise!!

Yesterday was the first day back at work after my leave.. and guess wat I saw when I opened my locker??

Haha! okays.. not to look at how messy my locker is.. but the flowers and the present!! heh! Got a shock when I saw all those.. :) Who else will 'break in' my locker other than HONEY??!! hahaha.. yep.. those were frm her.. A lovely bouquet of nice smelling flowers, hoodie frm old navy, plus a 'greeting card' handmade by her..

Her piece of creation has MICKEY on it!! haha~ I jus LUURRVVEE the gifts!! I think honey's kinda scary... She simply knows how to cheer ppl up! hee~ I LOVE U HONEY!! muackzz!

Virgin trip to Din Tai Feng!

Went out with Qin Ai De few days ago.. Actually the main objective of the day was to go look at her Coach bag and my Gucci wallet.. haha.. wanted to see the actual thing first before buying it.. But it seemed to become the least important thing tt day.. haha..

Went to buy my skinfood stuff at Novena and then CE to submit my appraisal first before meeting her at Taka.. Thats after her yoga class! haha.. darling's doing like 'intensive yoga' to lose weight n stuff.. for her coming wedding tt is... haha.. anyways.. after we went to like ALL the boutiques at Taka we're kinda hungry already so thought of grabbing some food... and plus my legs were in great pain! haha.. din expect to really shop so i wore heels tt day.. finding a place to sit and eat plus rest my feet seemed a "duh" choice.. Soup spoon was wat we wanted initially.. so the two of us slowly walked and laughed our way to Paragon... another 'rich tai-tai' place.. haha.. but after we reach Paragon we're like.. 'u sure jus wana eat soup spoon?' haha.. ended up in Din Tai Feng instead..

To our surprise, it was both our virgin trip to Din Tai Feng in Singapore!! hahaha... both of us been to the ones in Taiwan, but not here in SG.. so we settled ourselves down and started ordering... Darling wanted to have sour & spicy noodles but they only have the soup.. so we asked the waitress whether they can put some noodles in it.. then she said yes, cos they sell like plain noodles oso.. but when we looked at the menu.. the plain noodles are $5 per bowl, and the soup is like $6.50!!! so total will be $11.50 lors!!! WAT DA... hahaha... ended up jus ordering the soup and I ordered shrimp wanton noodles, then obviously we ordered the xiao long bao [like if nv order den wat are we there for right?], plus another yam paste mini dumplings.. haha.. at first we tot we ordered only a few things so tot of ordering some more later if not enough.. haha! but when the food was served, the table got like not enough space to put lor!! haha.. oh.. maybe the table was kinda small.. haha.. but still we couldn't finish the food! towards the end we jus forced each other to 'u eat this, i eat that'.. haha..

After tt we went to Far East to shop for rings.. I wanted to get a new pinkie ring and darling oso wanted to get some new rings.. And u know being girls.. haha.. when we say we want to get something, we ALWAYS end up buying other non-related stuff but not the ones we initially wanted!! hahaha.. so we got ourselves some cardigans, i bought a dress, darling bought a pair of heels blah blah... and neither of us bought any rings!! wahaha... towards the end i tot my legs were killing me already so jus anyhow bought a pair of slippers to change into.. haha.. girls are jus girls.. want to be pretty and dun care abt her life.. hahaha!

Going out with darling was really enjoyable!! we jus kept talking nonsense and laughing so loudly wherever we go.. did i mention? I was laughing so loudly at Din Tai Feng and darling said like more than 10 ppl turned their heads at me lor!! hahaha... so malu!!

Happy Birthday to ME!!

Yay!! Its my Birthday!! haha.. erm.. like 2 days ago... wahaha.. was kinda busy so din have time to update.. Anyways.. I wana thank each and everyone of you who gave me a really really wonderful day!! I really enjoyed myself and never been so happy this period of time... Shall not mention abt unhappy things here! haha...

Okays.. So my B'dae celebration was literally at Neil Rd! hahaha.. serious.. Went to Himawari's Neil Rd branch to have our dinner.. The food was nice! Erm.. ok lah... better than the usual buffet food u get elsewhere.. haha.. but tts not important... We really went CRAZY tt day lors!! haha.. booked the private room with karaoke... the sound system and songs i must say is quite good!! hahaha.. expected it to be abit 'lock cock'.. but no lor!!! the songs are more recent than Le Bar's!! hahaha..

Oh ya.. forgot abt my B'dae present!!! This is a MUST TELL!!! hahaha... Its the most CREATIVE present I've received so far... All thanks to Ms Ore.. haha.. Here's the story: One day I was jus casually/jokingly saying I want a LV speedy 25 for my birthday... And this Ms Ore took it for real and tot of this idea.. She collected a fair share of money frm everyone and put it in a LV's wallet box with the small little pouch in it PLUS LV's carrier!! So when I saw the LV carrier, I got a shock and tot, "they seriously got me a LV?? can't be ba..." haha.. Shld see the video they took of me when opening my present... the feel-like-slapping-them face.. haha! faintz~

So those who went for the dinner were CE's ppl plus my sis n her friends.. at first i tot it'll become 2 seperate groups at the restaurant.. but no lor!! both sides were equally crazy and they machiam noe each other all the while lor! haha... they even sang with each other and din bother abt me! hahaha... but tts good lah... everyone left the place happy! I hope.. haha!

After which we obviously walked down to Le Bar.. haha.. Its jus like 1 small street away frm each other.. Imagine if we take cab.. the uncle will jus think we all siao okays! hahaha.. Went in to Le Bar and Chris looked surprised seeing me.. and said," upper deck ok?" den i jus blur and followed Jerene up.. haha.. so he changed my tables.. initially i reserved the lower deck.. the one outside the toilet.. haha.. den he say upper deck bigger space and gave me tt.. Our tables got my name tags on it!!! hahahahaha.. make us feel so posh liddat.. usually they jus put the 'reserved' tag on it..

As usual we bacame the noise pollutant there! haha.. the most noisy and screaming-our-lungs-out group.. even my sis can't stand it and say they dun wana talk to us cos we're more noisy than them!! wahaha.. and we took like ten thousand photos lor!! hahaha.. jus kept taking and taking.. den while we're so engrossed with our crazy moment, suddenly the whole place became quiet and they played the Happy Birthday song.. I tell u.. Le Bar's B'dae song is SONG DE LOR!!! [old fashion in hokkien]haha.. like those u see in primary school era kind.. den my sis and Jane jane walked up with my birthday cake!!! hehe.. ok lah... not totally surprised but still was quite touched at tt moment! haha.. so they sang like the longest b'dae song ever.. english, chinese, cantonese... and plus their own version... haha.. it was so loud i tot the whole Le Bar sang the song together! haha.. and i got the most number of birthday kisses tt day!! hahahaha... not those peck on the cheeks kind.. mouth to mouth okays!! Qin ai de, my sis, wisnie, evelyn, jane jane, yuting, stella... like everyone working at Le Bar kissed me!!! hahahaha.. so happy!!

Today's Menu: Bibim Bap (Korean Mixed Rice)

Yes! I cooked myself a meal today!! haha.. Its the first time I'm cooking a real meal! I mean, I've cooked pasta, made sushi.. those are not tt much a hassle.. This is REAL cooking okays! haha.. So I made Bibim Bap, like it says frm my title.. its Korean mixed rice.. where u have meat(beef, pork or chicken), different kinds of vegetables, egg, of cos rice lah.. haha.. Then all the ingredients are placed nicely in the bowl on top of the rice, then u add chilli paste and mix everything together.. In Korea, there's 2 ways of eating.. Erm.. more for different season rather.. During winter, they use a stone bowl (smth like claypot), heat it up and put everything in.. So when they serve the rice u still can hear the sizzling sound coming.. Then during summer, they just serve the rice in a normal metal bowl.. Made sense? When the weather is cold, u eat hot, vice versa... haha.. But I prefer the stone bowl cos u get those slightly burnt rice at the end and it jus tastes sooo good! heh~ So lets see what we've got...

First was going to buy the stuff that I need. Oh well, just some vegetables and meat. haha.

Next, preparing the ingredients! haha.. well, I sliced the meat and marinated it.. Then was all the vege.. washing, cutting, picking the roots of the tau gey.. haha..

Then went on to fry all those things.. I've never fried vegetables before in my whole life!! haha.. I think I have talent.. Only watched my mom cook a few times and never really had hands on.. But my picky taste bud says it tasted quite well! hee~ After frying was assembling of the ingredients..

Well, of cos this can't be compared to those restaurant made ones.. But looks ok eh? haha.. then went on to mix everything together!

Okays.. Doesn't look as good as the previous pic.. but it was really nice!! haha.. Cos I used Korean chilli bean paste to mix it so it really got the 'Korean taste'.. haha.. First time cooking: passed!

Oh ya.. bought some of my favourite too.. STRAWBERRIES!!!! ok.. this is just coincidental that the strawberries are from Korea.. Its the mini version and I tot it was really cute so i bought it! Not to mention, its sweet too! :)

ALONE!!

Heh~ I'm enjoying the 'alone time' this week.. Parents to Taiwan, sis to bangkok!! Now I have PEACE!!! yay!
