DAMN PISSED

I jus got damn fucking pissed with the 7-eleven worker who can't even top-up my ez-link card PROPERLY!!!! I don't know what is her damn fucking problem. First she tell me I can't use nets for my payment. Hello~ I'm paying like 50 over bucks (plus 60cents for the damn service charge cos i'm topping up 2 cards.) not like its 5 bucks lor!! FINE.. I told her tt i wanted a $30 for my KKH card and a $20 for the usual looking one. so i went to draw money thinking that she would have topped up my cards already. But hell its not. Never mind. So she collected my $50.60 and I PATIENTLY WAITED for her to top-up my cards. Then she double confirmed with me the amount to be topped up for each card. After like 5 fucking minutes she took out a 5 dollar note wanting to return to me and i was like 'wat da hell..'. With my almost erupting volcano I went,"I SAID I WANT $30 FOR THIS AND $20 FOR THAT! I GAVE U $50.60 WHY ARE U RETURNING ME 5 BUCKS??!!!" Then I found out that she actually topped up $15 for the first card. LIKE WHERE ON EARTH DID THE 15 DOLLARS COME FROM??!!! I tot I confirmed with her the amounts already! I swear my face was as black as charcoal lor. After which her colleague tried to help her with the damn thing so i tot maybe this one will get it right. After another 5 fucking minutes the other colleague passed me my KKH card with the receipt which says like my balance is $20.48. This time I really raised my voice at them and said,"I SAID (FOR THE DUNNO HOW MANY FUCKING TIMES) $30 FOR THIS AND $20 FOR THAT! WHAT IS THIS?!" And throughout the two of them keep conversing in malay asking each other which one is 30 which one is 20, and they think that I do not understand their language! Hell. I tot I gave them 2 cards that looked totally different! Are they blind or wat? If u say its 2 identical cards then I've got nothing to say, BUT.. ARGH!!! Finally after standing there for like 20 minutes then they got the whole thing RIGHT. THEY JUST MADE MY DAY.

Well not exactly like u're all freshened up and starting a new life.. But the overall situation is much much better in the department now.. Whether the grudges are still there or not i don't care, and am not gona give a damn abt it.. So now's the summary of this week..

Monday morning i was in-charge AGAIN.. yes, its the tenth thousand times i'm in-charge this month already.. and its MONDAY LOR!! i hate being the monday morning in-charge.. stocks are always LOW LOW LOW and u've to order this order that.. anyways, nothing much happened tt day lah.. jus the usual pissing my ass off stuff frm the vendors, staff, blah blah..

I HATE THE ASSIGNMENT MAKER OF THE MONTH.

Then comes tuesday, which is also mock code day! 3rd mock code and 2nd time nurse 1.. So at 12noon i slowly dragged myself into the dept and changed into my uniform.. ok, i have a habit of not going into the toilet cubicle to change if i'm not peeing or wateva.. so as usual i was stripping in front of my locker when sister tor came out of the toilet cubicle AND SAW ME! yes, half naked.. haha.. i swear she got this 'can't believe wat i saw' look on her face! hahaha.. so i quickly zipped up my blouse n said hi to her.. haha.. den she said to see me in the resus room after i'm done, to do abit of briefing..

The first thing i saw when i stepped into the resus rm i almost fainted.. the infant dummy is on the resuscitaire!! [ok, a resuscitaaire is actually a radiant warmer for us to resus those newborns in case there's someone who delivered in the cab or wat on the way to the hospital.. wat we call Complete Birth Before Arrival (CBBA).. ] i tot sister tor said neonatal resus will only be towards the end of the mock code?! she haven't even gone thru with us a single thing abt neonatal resus n now its in!! but later sister tor said it was a mistake the someone made so end up we have to do something which we have no idea abt.. so in tt miserable 1hr's time she went thru with us the gist of neonatal resus and at 1pm, mock code!

Code master was Daryl n Pauline.. Not so bad cos not so stressful lah.. haha.. imagine if its A Ang or LP Tham den its totally different case lor.. anyways, Daryl said cos we seldom get CBBAs so wat we did is already not bad.. the fastest mock code i ever did so far.. like 20mins we completed the code already.. haha.. I think Daryl kept looking at me when he did the de-brief.. wonder if its me or wat.. haha..

Thursday was hell at work.. First thing was tt me n shahirah missed the bus stop cos we were talking on the bus n forgot to press the fucking bell.. so the damn 851 went all the way to little india mrt station instead.. and so we walked ALL THE WAY TO KKH FRM LITTLE INDIA!! where we could have jus crossed the road and reach CE.. so reached work at 6.55am and the moment i stepped in Doris said 'today u in-charge hor.' i was like 'WHAT??!!!' but i was almost late already so i went to my locker to change n din talk any further.. so I WAS IN-CHARGE AGAIN cos Doris said the rest of the core programme girls are having mock code so i'm the only one who can be in-charge.. den i said 'Elizabeth is obs2 wat!'.. my volcano was almost erupting.. den she jus said 'oh sorry i din see..' kaozz!! den straight after report got nagged at by sister Lee for not cleaning the CE Annex.. after which Doris said 'remember to order kidney dish ah.. no more le..' i went 'HUH??!! monday i jus ordered one big box lor! u mean ppl are eating kidney dishes eh? its only thursday n no more in stock!!'

so the whole morning i was down with 3 staff cos of the mock code.. and the patients jus keep coming non-stop! with so many things to do, n only me n evelyn available to work, i almost went bonkers tt morning.. then Jaime came for her pm shift n brought me her HOME-MADE CHRYSANTHEMUM WITH HONEY AND WOLFBERRIES TEA!! haha.. was really nice lor!! got this v strong chinese herbal tea smell which i liked.. SO SWEET OF HER!!!

After work went to VIVO again.. ok lah.. since its kinda near to little india so like always go there after morning shift lor.. So to reward myself for working damn hard the whole week, in jus 2 hrs i spent like coming 300 BUCKS can.. and i carried so many things plus my heavy bag my shoulder almost got dislocated!! haha.. when i reached hm i was so tired i tot i'm kinda drowsy already.. and my right arm was cramping all the way to my axilla! haha..

TGIF!! haha.. i was morning shift again but lucky nothing really bad happened la.. was in obs 2 but it din flood like it normally does.. then when i was at Rilly Ray's room to tell her to review her pt she suddenly said, "ur nose is v bad ah.. even ur voice sounds so sinus.. u wan to take antibiotics anot? i think erythro is good for u.. plus some loratidine shld recover v fast.." den i paused for awhile and jus smiled to her.. i dun wana take meds lah!! haha.. den she continued "i notice our staff here dun recover well without antibiotics noe.. take some ok?" so i end up having to take the damn erythromycin for 7DAYS!! so went to get my meds after work n went home to zzz straight after.. seriously need to recharge my battery for shopping again tmr!! haha..

Mock Codes!!!!

Oh well, was my 2nd mock code so far and first time Nurse 1!! Was super stress when i went to work yesterday and can't even triage patients properly.. haha.. Haniza was still asking me whether i can triage anot or i need time to study! Hee~ Den when i realised the code master was Dr Tham i was like, "Shit! I'm so gona die a miserable death!" But Sister Tor was kind enuff to brief thru some stuff jus before we start.. Btw it was a trauma code! I tot its gona be a medical code so the day before i bloody hell concentrate on medical! Den when i saw Kevin bring out the spinal board... tts it la.. jus gona flunk the damn thing..

So its a RTA with 3 siblings, one 11mth old flunk out of the car, unconscious; a 3yr old and a 6yr old, unknown status; parents nowhere to be found. My mind jus went blank all of a sudden. Anyways we still went ahead to prepare for the 'standby', and let me say, i seriously dunno wat da hell i prepared. haha.. den yesterday Dr Irene joined us for the mock code too. at first i tot, "ah.. maybe got doctor den not so bad.. maybe she can be the Dr in-charge so i no needa think so much! haha.." but den.. while i was preparing for the ETT, she asked me, " wat size to use ah? how u calculate the size? how old's the child ah?" PENGZZ!!!

So the whole thing was like in a mess.. haha.. me n jaime were whispering to each other all the time, "shld we do this? shld we do tt?" haha.. and i intubated the child with my hand shaking like nobody's business! but still went in the first time.. so tts the only thing i'm happy abt.. :) but overall we still did wats supposed to be done but Dr Tham said would be better if its more organised... haha.. so we passed!! yay! n Sister Tor was saying, "I tot u all performed very well!" [like real lor...] *I still dunno how to judge whether to send for CT scan first or send for E-op first.. all the seniors i asked gave different answers.. -_-"

After tt of cos would be CELEBRATION! haha.. abit too early to celebrate la.. but still its like a burden off the shoulder.. 4 more codes to go! so met up with my sis n wisnie @ vivo first to walk abt n to makan.. den after tt evelyn came n we went to Dragonfly first, den to our usual place Le Bar.. hehe.. my first time to Dragonfly! wat a mountain tortoise i am right? haha.. So i paraded down the hall, like the arrival of the royal princess.. haha.. Eve was making fun of me n made me wave my hand in the air.. wahaha.. we stayed for awhile den went up to Mono since it was packed like tuna. haha.. at Mono me n wisnie sang a few songs (like we always did) and hor.. ppl clap for us lor!! hahaha.. so damn honoured! like when in ur life will ppl clap for u if u're not some singer or wat? wahaha...

LE BAR IS MOVING TO A NEW PLACE!!! haha.. heard frm Chris n 'Biao Ge' tt its gona be a 3-storey place n according to Chris, its A HUNDRED TIMES NICER THAN THE PRESENT LE BAR! well, if its not den he's gona chop off his head for me lor.. haha.. so he say they'll add in alot of entertainment stuff, maybe a live band or smth, den things like private suites n all.. so i tot it sounded like wat Dragonfly is right now.. haha.. we shall see den! :)

Farewell to Joy...

Shld be Joy's 2nd day at work in aussie already... Time passes real fast.. It was still like yesterday tt she told me she's leaving for australia and I tot it was jus a casual remark.. Now, she's there already.. Tt day when we all went to send her off i din want to cry at all.. its like u want her to leave happily and not in such a sad way.. Afterall she's sort of leaving for good.. I say sort of cos its good for her but not good for me! Well.. I think we cannot be such selfish ppl right?
So Joy has left, qin ai de & juwi left for advance dip, now Zaila is leaving end of this month, even Doris will be leaving this year after she finish her bond.. So CE is just left with me alone.. Well not theoretically alone (ok lah.. i still have tee yu n darlin.. hee..). But u noe u always have this group of friends at work who are closer to u, not tt we encourage cliques as wat sister tor always says, but ya.. my clique lor.. haha.. So now i jus drag myself to work everyday. Dun talk abt productivity at work.. its jus not the first thing in my mind at the current stage.. Everyday i go to work i jus think of knocking off.. I noe tts bad.. Mock codes are coming up intensively but there's jus no... passion.

Swayed

Ok, not the usual swaying frm left to right kinda thing. More like being unlucky as wat u would say in the hokkien language> 'sway'. Was doing my night shift yesterday. So like any other day, i was dragging myself to work, then realised i was in-charge for the night. Then halfway thru the report there was this alarm tt rang.. and i was like "Did i hear the VHF? Damn.." And then i realised i wasn't the only one who heard tt. True enough, the SCDF called for standby for severe allergic reaction. 1st 'sway' thing of the night. Its considered unlucky as being such a teenie weenie and often misused ED, we seldom have standby cases unless for those really severe cases or sometimes its just the paramedic being too kiasu..

Then the intercom beeped again calling for another MO to the resus cos there's another breathless case to be seen. So i tot, "Die.. Its gona be another chaotic shift.." -_-"

So the rest of the report was just quickly brushed thru and we're all getting ready to prepare for the standby case. Just when we're abt to step out of the ops-post(where we had our report taking), there was a BLACK-OUT!! I mean not as in the usual black-out where the whole place jus go into darkness, but those appliances tt were not plugged to the red switch jus went off! No air-con, computers shut off, even the main CE door got hanged and u have to manually push it open. The whole place jus went into total silence. I mean since when did we have a black-out?! Like never lor.. So it was down-time, manual documentation, manual registration and blah blah.. So tts the 2nd 'sway' thing..

So after things got settled in the resus rm, i returned to the back to check if everything was alright. So the only lucky thing was there's no patient on the queue during the black-out, so no need to put up the consult cards. After tt the MOs jus keep coming to pass me procedure forms and all are practicals! So withing 10mins its like 3 practicals; 2 conscious sedation and 1 direct laryngoscopy. So i tot i'll jus quickly do the D/L, get it over and done with. Then i happily bring the patient with the MO to the ENT rm while i prepare. Then, i dunno if its really my jinxed power or wat.. The cocaine spray was without the applicator and i have to search high and low and then found one dirty one in the used instruments tray. So in front of the pt's parent i have to clean the applicator and after tt spray at the boy's throat. Then after tt while preparing the laryngoscope, the battery was FLAT! Argh~ I was like "walau, can it be more sway than this?" And usually there'll be spare batteries in the ENT trolley, but to my horror, there isn't any spares!! So i tot, quickly go and get new ones frm the cupboard la.. Then i realised the in-charge keys are not with me, and Ms Lailee who's holding on to the keys was nowhere to be found.. But wateva it is i still managed to find her and got the batteries..

The juniors are just so amazed by my jinco power. The rest of them are already so used to it they say "Aiya, its you lah.. tts y like tt.." *faintz*

But the rest of the night i would say was rather peaceful, with no resus and the queue was zero most of the time.. So tts all for the sway-ness! :)

New Begining

Thought of having a new place to blog... To put the past all aside n start all over again... No resolutions for this year! Heh~ Just wana do wateva i wana do... :) So here it is.. More posts coming up...
