Antidote

We finally found the antidote to our jinx-ness!!! haha.. was afternoon shift today and T2 with ziying.. actually the day before we looked thru the assignment book and realised we're both outside today, plus Ms Dan is K shift T3.. u noe all the sway ppl.. so i was telling ziying today we shall combine all our power and flood CE like nobody's business!! lol!! and the thing is, everyone is looking forward to see wat hell we can create! kak jah was saying "aiyo! today u n ziying outside ah! lucky i'm going home seh.. if not i die ah!" haha.. she's morning T1..

So I went to work all prepared to have like resus after resus and the que maybe always at 30 tt kinda thing.. but after we sat down, the triage was empty most of the time.. with maybe 1-2 pts once in a while.. we're even fighting to see cases lor!! haha.. like fastest fingers first.. *faints* Ms Dan was rolling her chair to n fro our counters to chit chat n talk nonsense.. haha.. the que was like 18-19 but tt was the 'leftovers' frm morning shift.. and u noe.. must see which senior doctor on lah.. so its not our problem at all tt the que was long.. heh~

By now can u see, the 3 of us together will 'anti-jinx' each other and the place will be peaceful!! haha.. so all the SSNs out there, pls put us all together at triage more often cos our power will ward off all evils!!! wahahaha!!

At first I thought was jus coincidental.. but after Ms dan left at 6pm, ziying started to call for resus!! haha.. but tt was an interesting case thou.. too interesting and rare till Dr Ang oso wanted to keep the ECG.. here's the story.. this 8 yr old boy came in with the complain of vomiting and abdominal pain. no past medical conditions. clinically looks well, not dehydrated. abit small size for his age but tts not like a big issue. but the heart rate was way too low.. it was always 50+ at triage, so ziying brought him in to resus to double check. still the same, in fact it even dropped to 30+. so called for resus of cos.. haha.. after they put him on cardiac monitoring, realised tt the child was actually having complete heart block (a.k.a 3rd degree heart block)!! i mean, cardiac arrhythmias are not so common in children unless they're congential.. and plus the child was previously well! haha.. so u see, tts the good point of being a jinco.. u learn alot.. lol!

Anyways, they din give anything to the child lah.. as in no medications or watsoeva.. jus standby some atropine and adrenaline.. then quickly sent the child up to CICU.. and according to ziying, the whole code team was up there waiting for the boy to arrive at CICU already!! haha.. and started doing the 2D echo once the pt reached and after tt sent to OT for the transcutaneous pacer.. talking abt 2D echo, I personally hated it.. its so painful thou its non-invasive, and my chest got bruised after doing it okays.. lucky my valves weren't prolapsed, if not i think i'll have to go thru tt hell like so many many times lor!!

after tt resus it sort of started to flood lah.. i say sort of cos the docs are actually seeing quite fast.. so the que din build up too much..

Just received the enrolment package frm NYP today.. hai.. seeing tt envelope made me like... i dunno.. makes everything seemed more real maybe.. it was like living in a dream since the day sister tor told me abt it.. I'm happy but at the same time, jus getting more n more stressed.. wat if i can't perform as well like in diploma time? i noe sister tor sort of have high hopes for me.. frm wat she's been telling me recently.. hai.. i just hope i can really do well and move towards my goal..
