UNDERtriage

Hate the feeling when u under-triage someone.. hai.. and of all days it has to be TODAY!! was super tired frm the furniture fixing yesterday, whole body aching, my hands cramping and my palms are bruised frm the screwing(sounds kinky eh? heh~)!!! some more this morning was bloody hell busy!! i think i sent in like more than 20 '9' cases lor! all breathless and post fit.. Ms Dan was cursing me when she saw me at break.. lol!!

saw this girl, 14 yr old.. came in with fever for 10 days and cough.. air entry wasn't that good but no wheezing.. slightly tachycardic (at 130+ bpm) but cos there's fever.. but her mom kept saying she has this uprolling of eyes tingy and at first i thought was fit.. so i asked whether she can respond to ppl's call and she said yes.. tt girl was also aware of wats happening to her.. but the thing is i didn't see wat sort of uprolling of eyes tt is, so i din think much abt it.. sent her in as a '9' cos her saturation was 94%..

so abt 30mins later this girl was brought in to resus as ordered by HER MAJESTY.. she said tt girl was very pale, and apparently her pulse went up to 280+ at obs 2.. the thing is, how can a big girl like her have a pulse rate of almost 300??!!! its abit ridiculous lor.. so she was as usual, shouting and asking who triaged tt girl.. jus happened i was in the resus room so i answered 'me'.. kaozz.. if u know her u shld be able to imagine her charred face.. so she was like "wats the parameters when she first came in? how come this wasn't a resus case??"

okays.. tt girl really did looked more pale as compared to when i saw her at triage.. so u know being the perfectionist obviously i dun feel good lah.. plus her majesty and tt uncle keep saying until like i made some grave mistake or wat.. but veron mommy was telling me if its her who triaged she oso wun put resus.. hai.. was really bothered by this case for the rest of the shift..

So tt girl was actually having OGC.. oculogyric crisis.. is a dystonic reaction to certain drugs and/or medical conditions. The term "Oculogyric" refers to rotating of eyeballs but several other responses are associated with the crisis.

Then during my break met CP Lee in the pantry so i asked him abt the case lor(he's the one who saw tt girl).. okays.. this part made me feel a little better.. he said the girl din look pale to him at all.. the x-ray wasn't very nice(she had pneumonia), but she looked ok.. in fact if he's the boss den he wun wana uptriage the girl either.. he also said the OGC was just mild.. the main thing is still the pneumonia.. then he made tt disgusted face when we talked abt the boss tingy.. hee~

Talking abt CP Lee.. tt reminded me of smth.. haha.. the first thing tt came to my mind when i first saw him was>> He looked like teddy!! lol!! i'm not the only person who said so.. tee yu agreed with me too lor!! and everytime i see him makes me wana laugh.. cos den i'll think of the real teddy.. keke.. okays.. i know what u're thinking.. he's married alrealy la.. some more his wife oso doctor.. haha.. :P

Well, moral of today's post is: I shall think twice, think thrice before putting the category for every child i triage frm now on!!! even if its just fever, cough and runny nose!!! Grrr~
